WAXAHACHIE--Bridgeport spotted Hillsboro a 6-0 lead, then scored at least one touchdown in each quarter on the way to a 35-14 win in the Class 3A Division II Region I area playoff game Friday afternoon at Lumpkin Stadium.Junior quarterback Phillip Daugherty led Bridgeport (7-5) with 253 passing yards on 13-for-32. He threw for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth.Hillsboro (7-5) scored less than four minutes into the game on Richuel Massey's 5-yard run that ended a 45-yard drive. But Bridgeport went ahead 8-6 on an 89-yard Daugherty-to-Ramey Herrera pass, and 2-point conversion pass, and never trailed again. Daugherty also had a 7-yard scoring pass to Joseph Krebs in the second quarter and a 24-yarder to Shane Funk in the fourth. Daugherty and Funk also ran for touchdowns in the third period. Craig Bailey had two interceptions for Bridgeport, which forced five Hillsboro turnovers.Massey led Hillsboro's offense with 149 rushing yards on 25 carries. Quarterback Chad Cockerham added 113 yards passing.
