From the Wichita Falls Tribune Herald:
"JACKSBORO -- Jonathan Maxwell scored three touchdowns, including the game-winner
in the fourth quarter as Jacksboro defeated Alvord 20-13 Friday night in
the District 11-2A opener for both squads. Maxwell finished the game
with 169 yards on just 11 carries, the difference in a tough defensive
battle between the Tigers and the visiting Bulldogs. Jacksboro, now 5-1
on the year, jumped out on top, with Maxwell scoring from 9 yards out in
the second quarter and on a 56-yard sprint in the third. But the Bulldogs
showed their mettle, rallying for two quick touchdowns on short touchdown
runs by Micah Slimp and Kyle Pylant to take a 13-12 lead late in the game.
Maxwell then rumbled 42 yards late in the quarter, and along with Lane
Elenburg’s successful run on the two-point conversion, took the game. The
Tigers rolled up 369 yards and 15 first downs on 50 plays while holding
the Bulldogs (3-3) to 209 yards and 14 first downs. Elenburg led the Tiger
defense from his linebacker spot, recording a sack and eight tackles."
